AmGen Tour of California (Bicycle Event)
The Amgen Tour of California is the most successful race in the United States, both in attendance and economic growth. More than 1.6 million spectators viewed 2007's race, setting records for a single sporting event in the state of California and any cycling event ever held on U.S. soil. Santa Rosa has been the host city for the race since its inception in 2006. And, once again this year, it will be the only city that is both the finish of one leg of the race and the beginning of the next leg. On May 16, Stage One goes from Nevada City to Sacramento. Stage Two on May 17, starts in Davis and ends in Santa Rosa. Spectators are invited to stake their spot along the race route and cheer as some of the world’s top cyclists (many of them Tour de France competitors) whiz by.
