Description: The Festival of Harps and Dance at Spreckles Performing Art Center in Rohnert Park features a rich tapestry of world music styles. In the 2008 event Swedish harpist Erik Ask-Upmark and his duo Dram perform the rarely heard harp music of Scandinavia. Lever harpist Diana Rowan and bansuri player Deepak Ram present music from India, Europe and the Middle East in a program entitled, The Mystic's Journey. Chaskinakuy, featuring Edmond Badoux on Peruvian harp, with a troupe of dancers, performs the lively traditional music of the Andean coast and highlands. And Celtic harpist Margie Butler and her popular ensemble Golden Bough feature pristine vocal harmonies, an array of rare and traditional acoustic instruments, and a trio of Irish dancers.
