The Glendi Festival has a very open and welcome feel to it. "Glendi" is Greek for party, and what a party it is indeed. The Glendi Festival offers food from around the world, Middle Eastern to Russian to Eritrean to Greek and many more. There is no doubt the Glendi Festival is a celebration of many cultures. This is what makes it so special and really sets the tone for the festivities.

There is a special kid's area and playground where there are horse rides, hay bails, and places to get creative. Also noteworthy is the special building with baked goods from many different cultures.

The big highlight of the Glendi Festival is the band Edessa, which leads festival attendees in group folk dances. Everyone is in a festive, friendly mood and Edessa's beat keeps everyone moving. It's all very communal and if you are in the right frame of mind, a somewhat spiritual experience.

Vespers in English take place on Saturday at 4pm and the candlelight choral concert take place each evening at the Glendi Festival.
