Healdsburg Jazz Festival
The Healdsburg Jazz Festival celebrates its tenth anniversary with an all-star line up. With performances in intimate venues throughout Sonoma Wine Country, it's got incredible music, beautiful scenery . . . what more could you ask for?
Both new and returning artists will perform this year, including Fred Hersch, Bobby Hutcherson, Eddie Palmieri, Charlie Haden, Pete Escovedo, and Zakir Hussain. The jazz festival begins May 30th with the Fred Hersch Trio, and special guest Kurt Elling at the Jackson Theater. During the course of the 10 day event festival goers can go to Latin Jazz on the Green, an afternoon with Eddie Palmieri and Pete Escovedo bands, attend Jazz Night at the Movies, with rare films by jazz film historian Mark Cantor, or hear spirituals and sacred jazz performend by mezzo-soprano Ruth Naomi Floyd.
The Healdsburg Jazz Festival is meant to be an intimate experience with performances held in theaters, hotel lobbies, cafés, restaurants, wineries, ballparks, and the town square
The Healdsburg Jazz Festival will sponsor several free concerts, including in one in the Healdsburg Plaza on Tuesday, June 3, as part of the Tuesday Picnic and Concert Series.
