Live at Juilliard!
Music in Juilliard Park Santa Rosa Summer Concert Series aka Live at Juilliard is a great way to spend a Sunday afternoon listening or dancing to free music with friends and family.
A nice stage is set up towards the back of the park next to the bocce ball courts. Feel free to bring a blanket, lawn chairs, picnic lunch and of course a bottle of Sonoma County wine. Wine, food and coffee are also offered on the premises, feel free to indulge yourself at the event.
The level of music played at Live at Juilliard is always very good, however it is the overall atmosphere that makes this event especially fun. Live at Juilliard is very family friendly as well as dog friendly, as long as your pooch is on a leash. Folks play frisbee, bocce ball and dance to the music as kids run around and enjoy the day. Hats off to the city of Santa Rosa for creating this fun free event.

August 1st - Kate Gaffney
Since relocating to San Francisco in August of 2009, Kate Gaffney has been playing with some of the best musicians the Bay Area has to offer. Hailing originally from Philadelphia, her most recent release, 'The Coachman', featuring contributions from Steve Kimock & Jackie Greene, has been praised by fans and critics alike. Her Thursday night 'Kitchen Sink' sessions at the Connecticut Yankee in S.F. have drawn collaborations with musicians from the likes of ALO, The Waybacks, Jambay, The Floydian Slips, Five Eyed Hand, and Montana Slim, to name a few. You're never quite sure who will be playing with Kate when you go to a show, but you can be assured that whoever it is, you will not be disappointed. Kate's goal in moving to the musically diverse area has been to develop new friendships in order to draw inspiration and hopefully to inspire others. So far, the plan seems to be working.
August 8th - Lansdale Station
Formed over the summer of 2005, Lansdale Station is a "fundamental pleasure group", combining high energy stage interaction with finely crafted songs from the heart. Blending country blues with Bay Area psychedelia, this award winning group reminds us of what made the San Francisco Sound so special to begin with. Recently Voted #7 in Jambase's Top 10 Albums of 2009 and a NME video award, Lansdale Station continues to be lauded by Nationwide and Bay Area top critics and DJ's. The group's dead solid songwriting and crisp musicianship is highlighted by the character filled voices of Judge & Lauren Murphy along with red hot guitar work by multi-instrumentalist, Dave Zirbel (pedal steel/lead guitar/lap steel).
August 15th - The Soul Shine Blues Band
From soulful renditions of familiar blues standards, to their gritty and infectious original tunes, the Soulshine Blues Band has something for everyone. This local favorite never ceases to get the crowd moving, and always seem to be on a mission to out-do themselves with every performance, leaving no doubt why they were voted the best blues band in the North Bay. This band does more than keep the blues alive, they give it a much needed shot in the arm and a kick in the... well you get the picture!
