Old Grove Festival
This is a great opportunity to experience the incredible acoustic space in Armstrong Woods. Magical moments await!
The Armstrong Woods Old Grove Festival is a unique experience and is a rare opportunity to listen and enjoy great music in a magic setting. The performances take place in the Redwood Theater, which consists of rows upon rows of wooden benches and of course is surrounded by large redwoods. Snacks and drinks are available at the back of the theater, however it is ok to pack a picnic and bring it in as long as you pack it out.
The atmosphere is very laid back and seating is first come first served. The venue is so large that it is possible to hang out in back and just lye down on a bench and look up at tree tops and stars while listening to the music.
I firmly recommend the Old Grove Festival and can say without hesitation that there is nothing else like it in the world. A truly unique, relaxing and fun, one of a kind experience.

Forty plus years since Maria's last performances with the Jim Kweskin Jug Band, she is bringing back the music that first made her famous. The band will release its first CD (with guest artists David Grisman and John Sebastian) in late September, and will begin an international tour in October 2009 starting in the Pacific Northwest, into Canada and continuing across America. The Old Grove Festival will host the CD release and will be the venue for one of the new band’s first performances.
With a career spanning five decades, legendary singer Maria Muldaur is a one-woman powerhouse. Born and raised in New York City’s Greenwich Village, with a music history firmly planted in American roots music, she is best known for her 1974 million-selling hit, "Midnight at the Oasis”. Her performances are infectious—part down-home revival, part sophisticated and joyful sensuality, and all a celebration of her total nature.
