Savor Sonoma Valley
A week after the wineries in three other Sonoma County regions host their barrel tasting, Sonoma Valley
wineries step it up with Savor Sonoma Valley
barrel tasting weekend. Over 20 participating wineries in Sonoma Valley
will feature tastings right out of the barrel, music, gourmet food, and lots of fun. Some wineries adopt a theme for the weekend. Many owners of the wineries, as well as winemakers often are on hand and some of Sonoma County's finest local chefs whip up tasty bites to pair with the wines.
Savor Sonoma Valley
barrel tasting weekend is a great way to enjoy the spring weather in luscious Sonoma Valley
and get a sneak peek of future releases. But the best part about Savor Sonoma Valley
is the direct contact you get with winemakers at many of the smaller wineries.
Barrel tasting is not for everyone--barrel samples are not finished wines and can be rough and unready. Still, it's interesting to see wine in progress, and the wineries also have plenty of finished wines to sample.
