Description:

West Sonoma CoastShow on map Vintners, an association of wineries on Sonoma’s coastline, will host the fourth annual West of West Wine Festival from August 1st to 3rd. The event will be held in Sebastopol at The Barlow and will feature some of the most acclaimed Pinot Noirs, Chardonnays and Syrahs on the market today.

The Festival begins with Welcome Dinners hosted by member wineries on Friday night, August 1st. These dinners offer a rare opportunity to dine with winemakers in their home or winery. Saturday offers morning seminars, interviews and flight tastings, following by the first of two Grand Tastings on Saturday afternoon and the Grand Dinner Celebration in the evening. Finally, return to the Grand Tasting tent on Sunday afternoon for a second opportunity to taste through the wines.

The West of West Wine Festival is your best opportunity to experience the extraordinary wine, food and culture of the West Sonoma CoastShow on map.

Tasting & Pairing Terroir
The chef/owners of the two hottest farm to table restaurants in San Francisco, Stuart Brioza from Statebird Provisions and Evan Rich from Rich Table, join moderators Paul Einbund and Peter Palmer. Particular emphasis will be placed on why certain wines work better with certain ingredients and how sourcing and farming philosophies can translate terroir in a dish.

Lunch
Enjoy a delicious lunch prepared from locally sourced ingredients.

Heintz Vineyard Chardonnay
An in-depth exploration of one of the iconic vineyards of the Sonoma CoastShow on map: Heintz Vineyard. The wineries purchasing fruit from Charlie and Karen Heintz are a veritable who's who of the best producers in the West Sonoma CoastShow on map: DuMol, Flowers, Freeman, Littorai, Williams Selyem, Ceritas, Radio Coteau, Kesner Wines, Banshee & Zepaltas. Explore the vineyard and the wines produced from it through the lenses of terroir, winemaking technique and regional identity to better understand this extraordinary West Sonoma CoastShow on map site.

WOW Grand Tasting 3:00pm - 6:00pm
An unparalleled opportunity to taste the wines of more than 40 producers and growers; many of them hard-to-find gems, all of them pure expressions of the West

Grand Dinner 6:00pm - 10:00pm
The festivities continue with a pre-dinner reception featuring white and rose wines from the West Sonoma CoastShow on map and local oysters from Hog Island Oyster Company. Afterwards, enjoy a Grand Dinner highlighting local Sonoma bounty. Dinner wines will consist of magnums of Pinot Noir and Chardonnay supplied by each of the members of the West Sonoma CoastShow on map Vintners. Feel free to bring something from your cellar to share if you wish. $300
