Winter Wineland
Winter Wineland is a great opportunity to meet winemakers, taste limited production wines, new releases, barrel tastings or library wines. Some of the participating wineries are not typically open to the public and open their doors just for the festival. Some wineries will offer food pairings, music, entertainment and tours. It all depends on which ones you choose to visit. Pay for entry at any of the participating wineries and receive a wristband that gives you access to Winter Wineland.
Winter Wineland does not take place at one location. Instead, you go from winery to winery, visiting the ones you are interested in exploring. Check out the Winter Wineland map (near the top right-hand side of this page) and click on the wine glass icons to plan out your trip. Or, look through the list of participating wineries that follows, and click on the map (compass) icon next to each name. Be sure to check out "Notables" below to see what each winery will be offering.
Planning is key if you want to hit up a bunch of wineries. However, just going to 2 or 3 really good wineries with nice spreads and hanging out all day there isn't a bad idea either. This is a very free-form type of festival, meaning there are no hard and fast rules on what to do. The crowd that comes to Winter Wineland is always friendly and in a festive mood, so there is a good chance you might chat it up and meet some new friends.
It's a good idea to have a designated driver for Winter Wineland. Designated Drivers will not be served any wine - however they may sample the food and will be offered other beverages to drink. At check-in they are given a different color wristband and a mug instead of a wineglass. Or, hire a limo or wine tours service like Vine Rover Tours
.
All in all, Winter Wineland is a great way to get to see many wineries in a couple of days and also to spend some quality time with friends and family.
Remember...
Be prepared to show your wristband at each winery you visit (to let us know you’ve checked-in).
Be prepared to show your photo I.D. - No I.D. = no admittance.
You will need to keep your wristband on for both days.
If you break your glass, it will be gladly replaced. But if you lose or forget your glass it will be $5.00.
All Wine Road events are for adults only... NO ONE under the age of 21 is allowed to attend Winter Wineland - no babies or children of any age.
