Expressive Drawing Youth Workshop at Sonoma Valley Museum of Arts
Every Summer the Sonoma Valley
Museum of Art
puts on a series of youth workshops. These workshops are a fun way for children to learn about art while creating it. It's a great interactive educational experience!
Artists are often inspired by other artists to try new media, and David Hockney's graphic interpretation of Grimm's Fairy Tales provides a great example. This workshop will allow children to explore the art of printmaking. They will learn to make one-of-a-kind monotypes and an edition off drypoint prints. This is a project-based class where children will create unique art prints, a self-portrait, and a set of note cards to take home.
There are two session types available for this workshop:
The morning session (9:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.) is for ages 11 - 13.
The afternoon session (1:00 - 4:00 p.m.) is for ages 14 - 17.
