Inspired Printmaking Youth Workshop at Sonoma Valley Museum of Arts
Every Summer the Sonoma Valley
Museum of Art
puts on a series of youth workshops. These workshops are a fun way for children to learn about art while creating it. It's a great interactive educational experience!
Artists are often inspired by other artists to try new media. One example is David Hockney's graphic interpretation of Grimm's Fairy Tales. In this workshop, youth will explore the art of printmaking. They will learn one-of-a-kind monotypes and an edition of drypoint prints.
This is a project-based workshop. Participants will create a self-portrait, unique art prints, and a set of note cards to take home.
There are two class sessions available for this workshop.
The morning session (9:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.) is for ages 9 - 12.
The afternoon session (1:00 - 4:00 p.m.) is for ages 13 - 15.
