The nineteenth century was a whirlwind of change, in which economic and social upheavals brought about profound transformations in European society. The art of the century reflects this dynamism as well. This class, taught by Jennifer Bethke SCM curator of art, will concentrate on France, looking at art from Romanticism to Impressionism and beyond. Come gain an appreciation for the amazing scope and bold experiments of these artists, in a fun and friendly learning environment.
