The wild mushroom adventures continue in the hills of Alexander Valley with chef Elissa Rubin-Mahon, past president and founding culinary chairperson of the Sonoma County Mycological Association. It'll start at a beautiful private property outside of Healdsburg where you will venture into the surrounding woodlands to foray under the watchful eye of Elissa. She will share information about how to identify terrain and environments where wild mushrooms are likely to grow, how to identify found mushrooms (focusing on prized edibles), safety basics and other important information to help you begin to feel comfortable foraging on your own.

After the tromp in the woods, you will review the found fungi and return to the Relish Culinary Center for a cooking demonstration featuring...wild mushrooms! Chef Elissa will switch to her chef role and talk about how to handle, store and cook a variety of dried and fresh mushrooms. She will prepare any edible treasures we find for sampling plus some of her favorite mushroom specialties. The complete wild mushroom lunch will be served with fantastic local wines.

Relish cooking classes include 8 ounces of wine per person served to all participants over 21 years of age. Additional wine is available for purchase by the glass or bottle.
