To get to the beginning of Black Market Blues, you gotta go way back…..to when LP’s ruled the airwaves and Black and Blue was on top of the charts. That’s when two young musicians met in Boston and began a life-long musical association which has culminated in their latest project, Black Market Blues. When Steve DiNardo moved to Boston in 1977 to attend college, a chance meeting led him to a talented guitar player and budding electronics guru named Joe Mloganoski. Their friendship and musical collaboration resulted in a happening bar band, allowing them to hone their clubbing and recording skills on a steady diet of classic ‘70’s rock and blues. Shortly after, DiNardo was joined by his younger brother, Chris, who had also made the trek to Boston, and so started a musical friendship and collaboration that would last, literally, a lifetime. After losing touch in the mid-80’s, the three friends reunited a decade later, and 3000 miles away, when they found themselves all, by chance, living in San Francisco. Reconnecting and reigniting, the three friends have been making music in a variety of configurations and at various Bay Area venues for the past 15 years. Their latest project was made complete when they were joined by front man and lead singer, Terry Sanders, whose vocal talents and well crafted song writing has given a new focus to the musical underpinnings made solid over the years by three old friends. Most recently, they've added keyboard phenom Steven Seydler, who (ironically) had also just relocated to the Bay Area from Boston. His lush backdrops and stellar soloing skills have added depth and range to the band's sound. Black Market Blues is currently working on its first CD, which it plans to release in the fall.
