Family Hikes at Spring Lake Regional Park
Bring the kids and learn about Spring Lake's wildlife on new, naturalist-led hikes at the Environmental Discovery Center. One-hour hikes begin at 1 and 3 p.m., and families can return to the EDC afterward to make bird feeders and learn more about habitats. Easy-moderate hike on Shady Oaks Nature Trail. All ages welcome, but strollers not recommended. The naturalist will discuss local flora and fauna, and families might see wintering waterfowl and grey squirrels gathering acorns for the winter. Hikers should wear warm clothes, good walking shoes and bring their own water. Heavy rain cancels.
