Plant Exploration and Importation Symposium at Quarryhill Botanical Garden
Sunday August 28 - Tuesday 30, 2011 join Quarryhill Botanical Garden
and the American Public Gardens Association for a symposium about the history of plant exploration and the many benefits it has brought to us. These topics will be discussed within the context of international and national regulations regarding the movement of germplasm, conservation issues, the current extinction crisis, and the role of botanic gardens and arboreta. We will also discuss the methods, equipment, and goals of modern day plant explorers, and the value and importance of collaboration among botanic gardens and arboreta.
