Hot Deals in Sonoma

One of the most heralded vineyards in Sonoma County is turning 10 years old, and here is your special invitation to attend a winemaker dinner to mark this momentus occasion. On Saturday, July 9,  Kick Ranch Vineyard owners Dick Keenan and Kathy McNamara are offering an up-close and in-depth look at the farming and wine growing at this remarkable vineyard, located in the secluded Rincon Valley.

Upon arrival, you’ll pick up a glass of wine and meet Ariel and Jeff Russell, who will talk about their Redwood Empire Farm at Kick Ranch where they are growing over 30 different types of vegetables sustainably. Then the group will stroll through rows of syrah, grenache, and mourvedre grapes to tables overlooking the vineyard lake and hillsides, while learning about winegrowing from Dick and Vineyard Manager Glenn Alexander along the way.

As the sun goes down, the group will dine al fresco at a grand dinner, prepared by Healdsburg chef Mike Mattson, paired with wonderful wines produced from grapes grown at Kick Ranch and local vineyards. While enjoying the meal, Phil Staehle of Enkidu Wine and Chris Loxton of Loxton Cellars will share their winemaking philosophies and toast to Kick Ranch. Please peruse the menu:
