The General's Daughter is now closed. General's Vallejo's daughters historic house is now home to ESTATE Restaurant, and is owned and operated by Chefs Sondra Bernstein and John Toulze of the girl & the fig and the fig cafe & wine bar fame.

The General's Daughter takes California cuisine and turns it at least on its side with an infusion of the Deep South. Chef Preston Dishman made rounds in restaurants from North Carolina to Alabama and Florida before landing at The General's Daughter, where he combines fresh local ingredients with southern staples like andouille sausage, grits, beans, and greens to create Wine Country food with a Southern flare. The massive 23-page wine list is quite eclectic, featuring both old world and new world, and lots of Wine Country locals.
