Fairfield Osborn Preserve
Fairfield Osborn Preserve was established in 1970 through a generous donation of William and Joan Roth to Sonoma State Uinveristy. Its 460 acres are devoted to protecting and restoring natural communities and education students and the public about the importance of ecological responsibility. A wide range of natural habitats are found at Fairfield Osborn Preserve: creeks, ponds, marsh, woodlands, and chapparal. The Fairfield Osborn Preserve is home to a number of rare and endangered species of animals, including the endangered red-legged frog. The park is open only by guided tours, which take place every Saturday during spring and autumn. On selected weekends there are also field workshops and naturalist training on site is also possible.
