Fort Ross Historic State Park
Russian settlers occupied this area from 1812-1841. Fort Ross supplied food for Russian settlements in Alaska. It was the site of California's first shipbuilding and windmills. At Fort Ross State Historical Park you can explored original and reconstructed buildings from this period, including a Russian Orthodox chapel, several houses, stockade and barracks.
