Fourth generation wine grower Ray Teldeschi and his wife Lori, have some of the oldest zinfandel vines in Dry Creek Valley
; many of his vineyards are over 100 years old. For years they have sold their fruit to such famous producers as Rafanelli and Ridge. Although their grapes are in high demand, a few years back they decided to strike out on their own and create their own label and The Del Carlo Winery was born (Ray’s mother’s maiden name was Del Carlo). In 2005 they released their first vintage of old vine Zin and Cabernet and they’ve been winning blind tastings ever since.
