is a small, boutique winery even since being purchased by the corporates, most recently Constellation brands. Namesake Gary Farrell
has since moved on to new projects, but the wines and the views from high above the Russian River Valley
forest (rather than the typical Wine Country vineyards views) are still worth the stop.
I'm overdue for a visit, but last time it was the whites at Gary Farrell that made the biggest impression on me. But count on great Pinot Noir here as well, and Encounter, the Bordeaux blend. Although Gary Farrell is gone, his style remains as new winemaker Susan Reed worked under Farrell for four years.
