Mill Creek Winery is a fantastic winery right at the Healdsburg end of Westside Rd.  It has been around since 1974 and is the second winery on the road, in fact the second and third generations of the founding Kreck family still own and operate it making it the oldest winery on the road. 

The charming Mill Creek Winery tasting room is a replica of the old sawmills in the area with a working mill and millpond.  The vineyards surround the tasting room and it’s really a kick to be able to look at the vines where the wine you’re drinking came from. 

Mill Creek Winery has a great variety of wines both red and white, their Gewurztraminer and Merlot seem to fly out the door.  But they are on the small side of the production scale so the wines really reflect quality as opposed to quantity. 

The Mill Creek Winery wine club is probably the most member friendly club around.  You can choose the amount of shipments you receive a year, plus the size of those shipments. Not to mention that you can choose whether you want all reds, all whites, mixed, or even Limited edition wines in those shipments.  If that wasn’t good enough they welcome substitutions if you don’t want what’s scheduled to arrive.  

After tasting through the Mill Creek wines it’s difficult to decide if you should picnic by the millpond or on the picnic deck. The picnic deck is above the tasting room and has one of the most stunning views of the Dry Creek, Alexander, and Russian River valleys imaginable.  When you are sitting up there it is quiet and relaxing and it seems like if you just stay there reality really will disappear. It’s a pretty safe bet that you will fall in love with the quaint little tasting room and its staff, then keep coming back over and over again for Mill Creek Winery's award winning wines.
