Pastori Winery - Alexander Valley Wineries - Sonoma County
Pastori Winery
Pastori Winery is old school Sonoma County at it's best. Frank Pastori tells me his father founded Pastori Winery back in 1914. It's my understanding that Frank is in his late 80's and still tends to all his 85 acres of vines and sells most of his grapes to Clos du Bois. However, Frank is a winemaker to and produces about 5000 cases on the Pastori Winery label every year.
You will drive right by Pastori Winery, just like I did when heading North on 101 to Cellar No. 8 at Asti Winery
. Since the building is worn from time and weather you'll think it's closed. When I asked Frank what the tasting room hours were, he coyly replied " whenever I'm here" and shot me a smile.
If you get a chance you should stop by Pastori Winery. It truly is a taste of old school Sonoma.
Just look for Franks white pickup truck out front. ; )
