There use to be an abundance of Sonoma County Christmas tree farms. Slowly they are disappearing and, along with it, the age old tradition of going out with your family and choosing a tree. Picking out a pre cut Christmas tree, from God knows where, in the Home Depot parking lot,  just doesn't cut it... Sorry ; ) But really, what could be better than going out and making an event of choosing your special Sonoma County Christmas tree? There is a real diversity of Sonoma County Christmas Tree Farms, some are high up in the hills and offer stunning views, many offer free hayrides, coffee and cider. One of Sonoma County's favorite Christmas tree farms, Frosty Mountain Christmas Tree Farm delivers on many levels. Not only does Frosty Mountain have great views, it is also spacious and has a nice picnic area. Furthermore, it is one of the few Sonoma County Christmas tree farms that features tractor rides.

The view doesn't get much better than at the Moon Mountain Christmas Tree Farm. Located 2 miles up Moon Mountain Road, there are fantastic views of vineyards and the Sonoma Valley. You pick the Christmas tree and they will cut and carry it to your car. They will provide twine, however you need to tie the tree to your car.
