Carneros is the hotel restaurant inside the Lodge of Sonoma Hotel. Barbara & I were married here in 2006. We stayed for 3 days. The restaurant catered our 80 guest wedding party. They did a yeoman job. The steak dinners were flavorful, fresh tasting, and highly satisfying. We ate all of our meals here for the entire stay. The restaurant menu is Northern California meets Mexican ranch style. Seasonal items can include fun items like summer green fried tomatoes, or winter sweet tamales. The food is ?solid?. Those means consistent & predictable quality, substantial flavors, and correct portion size. Wine list is mostly Sonoma valley. There is a full bar that makes top shelf cocktails. Dining room is 5 star hotel fancy that continues on the Mexican rancho architectural theme. Features a high ceiling, open wood beams, white stucco walls, a pretty garden surrounds the dining area. Table settings use the finest commercial quality porcelain, glassware & silverware. Of course the service is highly polished as well. Knowledgeable servers are calm, efficient, and courteous. This restaurant & hotel is a perfect romantic get-away destination for any romantic couple. Leave the kids at home and get back in touch with your inner movie star. - Tom Samarati
