Wilson Winery
Wilson Winery is a small boutique winery featuring reds only. With a panoramic view from the veranda over Dry Creek Valley, this is one of
Sonoma County's best picnic spots.
Wilson Winery is best known for their award-winning Zinfandels, the Wilsons also produce very good Syrah and Cabernet Sauvignon. Sister winery Mazzocco, around the corner on Lytton Springs Road, also specializes in Zinfandel.
Notables: Producers of very big and jammy Zinfandels, Wilson Winery has the distinction of winning two consecutive Sweepstakes Awards for Best Red at Sonoma County's Harvest Fair, the local Academy Awards. Also features live bands Friday nights during spring and summer months. Fantastic veranda to sit and enjoy the Dry Creek Valley view. Dog friendly (the Wilson's border collie Molly is the winery's official greeter).
Visitors are encouraged to bring their own food and take advantage of Wilson's prime scenic location for a picnic.
Also of note is Wilson Winery's "Finally Friday!" Summer Concert Series. Starting in late May Wilson Winery hosts concerts starting at 6pm and going till 8. Buy a bottle of wine and admission is free. Ocassionally they get a big act and charge a nominal fee of $15. At these events they do sell cheese, salami, crackers and of course their award winning wines.
